I was wondering if anyone could tell me the real differences between C# and C++, I have used both languages with some simple tutorials and they work almost exactly the same, what is the point of the two different languages?

I’ve noticed C# is more popular with game development with XNA game studio and such, why is this?

I’ve not done anything with either but some research comes up with
“C# inherits most of its operators, keywords, and statements directly from C++”
“C# is the first component-oriented language in the C/C++ family.”
“if you want to use a strong programming language like C++ with the simplicity of VB and Delphi, than you can use C# powered with CLR.”

Basically what I gather is C# is more simple than C++ but has many of the same features/syntax with a few specific key changes.
